2007 Public Report

Middle Ridge Road ResurfacingIn 2006, major projects were started and completed under budget and within the scheduled construction time frames.

Sources of financing for these and future projects are derived from: Federal (Federal Highway Administration), State (Ohio Public Works Commission/Issue 2 & ODOT) and Local (Motor Vehicle Gas Tax and Community) Funds.

2006 Completed Projects

  1. Colorado Ave. — Sheffield Village — City of Lorain to Abbe Rd. Widen to 3 lanes. Estimated construction cost $4,206,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  2. Station Rd. Rehabilitation — Columbia Twp. — Crocker Rd. to Sprague Rd: Estimated construction cost $3,165,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  3. Griswold Rd. — Elyria Twp. — Lake Ave. to Leona, widen to 3 lanes: Estimated construction cost $2,200,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  4. Baumhart Rd. — Kipton, Henrietta, and Brownhelm Township — U.S. Route 20 to Lorain S. Corp: Estimated construction cost $1,800,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  5. Cowley Rd. — Eaton Twp. — Crocker Rd. to S.R. 82: Estimated construction cost $1,673,500 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  6. Island Rd. — Eaton Twp. — Grafton Township Line to CSX Railroad: Estimated construction cost $1,332,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  7. Russia Rd. — Carlisle and New Russia Twp. — Oberlin — Elyria Rd. To S.R. 58: Estimated construction cost $975,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  8. Butternut Ridge Rd — Carlisle Township — Oberlin — Elyria Road to Grafton Road: Estimated construction cost $800,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  9. Oberlin Road — New Russia and Amherst Township — Oberlin N. Corp to S.R. 113: Estimated construction cost $800,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  10. Grafton Rd. — Carlisle Twp. — S.R. 57 to 16th St: Estimated construction cost $720,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  11. Oberlin — Elyria Road — New Russia and Carlisle Township — S.R. 511 to Butternut Ridge Road: Estimated construction cost $450,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  12. Pyle South Amherst Road — Amherst Township — S. Amherst N. Corp to Amherst S. Corp: Estimated construction cost $350,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.

  13. Lagrange Road — Carlisle Township — U.S. 10 to Oberlin — Elyria Road: Estimated construction cost $300,000 — 80% Fed. 20% Local OPWC.
