Construction Alert: Quarry Road Bridge Repair

11/7/09 -- Lorain County Engineer Ken Carney announced the Quarry Road bridge repair in New Russia Township will be between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. on November 10, 2009 and November 11, 2009. Quarry Road will be closed from Garfield Road to State Route 511 within those hours. Detour signs will be posted. Your cooperation during construction is greatly appreciated.

Construction Alert: North Ridge Road - Trinter Road to Gore Orphanage Road

10/17/09 -- Lorain County Engineer Ken Carney announced the North Ridge Road culvert replacement in Brownhelm Township will begin 8:00 am. October 19, 2009 and end 4:00 pm. North Ridge Road will be closed for one day from Trinter Road to Gore Orphanage Road.

Resurfacing Contract Awarded

10/8/09 -- Ken Carney, County Engineer announced today that Burton Scot Contractors LLC, Newbury, Ohio has been awarded a $1,440,000 contract for the resurfacing of Russia Road in Carlisle and New Russia Townships. The project will consist of widening of the paved shoulders to 4 feet, ditch setbacks where required, asphalt planing, asphalt resurfacing, asphalt drive aprons and guardrail improvements. Existing roadway culverts will be extended and/or replaced with upgrades of the roadside drainage systems. The Engineer’s estimate was $1,710,556. The funding for this project is 100% Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funds (ARRA), also known as Stimulus Funds.
