Ken Carney, the County Engineer also serves as the appointed County Sanitary Engineer, working with the County Commissioners to supervise the construction of sewer and water lines. This includes 41 miles of waterlines, 7 wastewater treatment plants, 2 lift stations, 2400 sanitary sewer customers and 41 miles of sanitary sewers throughout the County. We maintain approximately 41 miles of 6" to 15" sewer lines in our collection systems. We also maintain 40 miles of additional water mains from 6" to 12" in size in Carlisle, Elyria, Sheffield, and Amherst Townships.
