  • Have you Returned the 2024 Current Agricultural Use Valuation (CAUV) Renewal Application?  In January, CAUV renewal applications were mailed. Applications were due before the first Monday in March.  Applicants who have not returned a renewal applicaion will soon be receiving a Final Notice letter (renewal application enclosed), which is due prior to the first Monday in April (04/01/2024).  If you do not renew the application, the County Auditor's Office is required to return the property to its true current market value and recover the taxes for the past three years.  For more information, please contact our office at (440) 329-5212.

Mobile Property Search Site

Introducing the Lorain County Auditor's GIS Mobile site that is compatible with mobile and tablet devices (Android and iPhone).  It has same look and setup as the desktop GIS Website, but made specifically for handheld devices.  No installation is required, just bookmark the address to access Lorain County real estate records with a small-screen friendly interface. 

You can search by Owner name, Address and Permanent Parcel Number (PPN) to find any parcel within Lorain County.  On the search bar, choose the drop down arrow and select which field you want to search by.  You can read more details by tapping on the “About” (letter i) widget.

Award for excellence in financial reporting

Lorain County Auditor Craig Snodgrass has received his 20th award for excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Auditor's Office wins gis best practices award

The Lorain County Auditor’s Office was presented with the Ohio GIS Best Practices Award at the Ohio GIS Conference held in Columbus, Ohio. The Best Practices Award is presented annually by the Ohio Geographically Referenced Information Program (OGRIP), a State agency made up of mostly volunteers who share a common interest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and in using geographic information in Ohio.

Auditor's office to return $1.8 Million to local entites

We're pretty proud to be able to make this announcement. For the first time ever in Lorain County, we will be able to return almost $2 million to the schools, cities, villages, townships and other entities that receive levy funding.
