Theresa R. Carballada, 95, Regarded as an Amazing Cook and Epic Baker
Theresa R. Carballada, (nee Tilosanec), age 95, of Lorain, completed her journey peacefully at home surrounded by her family on the evening of Friday January 12, 2024.
She was born to Florian and Frances (nee Messerich) Tilosanec on February 16, 1928.
Theresa graduated from Lorain High School in 1946. She had worked as a production assistant for General Industries and a variety of other businesses throughout her lifetime. She married her husband, Louis, in 1952; together, they operated the Fairmount Dairy Bar in South Lorain for many years.
Theresa was a dedicated homemaker who took excellent care of the family, who meant the world to her. Regarded as an amazing cook and epic baker, she prided herself on never permitting anyone to ever leave her home hungry.
She and her late husband, loved to entertain family and friends in their home. They also shared a passion for travel and were able to see almost all of the United States during their family vacations.
Theresa was a long-time member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain.
Survivors include her children JoAnn Myers (Denny), Sue White (Doug), and Joe Carballada (Cathy). She also leaves grandchildren Melissa (Chris), Nicole (Ryan), Cindy, and Tommy along with three great grandchildren and a fourth due to arrive in early March. Additional survivors include siblings Donna Tilosanec and Florian Tilosanec.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Louis, daughter Cindy Wildman (David, deceased), parents Florian and Frances Tilosanec, and siblings Virginia Stem (Richard, deceased) and Mary Knierieman (Walter, deceased).
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Please join her family for the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Peter Parish – 3501 Oberlin Avenue, on Saturday January 20th. Reverend Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
