Rose M. Dulio Etzkorn, 95, Will Be Greatly Missed

Rose M. “Dede” Dulio Etzkorn (nee Schindler), age 95, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at Arden Courts Westlake on the evening of Friday November 17, 2023.

Dede was born in Lorain on May 28, 1928 and remained a life-long resident of the city; she was a graduate of Lorain High School.

In her earlier years she was a licensed realtor and had also served as co-owner of the Ace Car Wash throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s.

A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Dede possessed a fondness for small animals, especially, dogs. She also displayed an interest in all forms of art with a special love for painting. She, herself, enjoyed painting with oils.

Undeniably, her greatest joy came from the love she shared with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Survivors include her niece Andrea Witner (Tom), and nephew Todd Burke (Deana McNett Burke).

Dede was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas L. Dulio, her second husband Dr. Peter A. Etzkorn, M.D., parents John and Elizabeth (nee Gross) Schindler, brother Max Schindler, and sister Lillian Burke.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Arden Courts for the wonderful, compassionate care that they provided along with a special note of gratitude to her hospice nurse Tracy.

Private funeral services were observed in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel with Reverend Edward Smith, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church officiating. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.
