Robert E. Frederick, 65, Enjoyed Fishing and Gardening

Photo of Robert E. Frederick Robert E. Frederick, age 65, of Lorain, Ohio passed away at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, Ohio on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 following a brief illness.

Bob was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on April 13, 1958 and was a long time Lorain resident.

Bob was a 1976 Lorain High School graduate. He was employed as a truck driver for the Jefferson Trucking Company for nearly two decades, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the United Teamsters Union #20. He looked forward to monthly breakfast with fellow Jefferson retired truck drivers.

Bob’s interests included fishing, gardening, and HO gauge model rail roading. His enthusiasm for NASCAR, and the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Guardians was well known. Bob found joy watching vintage television series including The Rifleman, Hogan’s Heroes, Andy Griffith, and Wagon Train, as well as the Game Show Network.

Survivors include son Rich Frederick (Carol Wisniewski) of North Ridgeville, brother Thomas Frederick (Geraldine) of St. Augustine, Florida, sisters Ann Koler (Michael) and Carol Presutto (Samuel) of Lorain, long-time friend Mary Delfino and three devoted pet cats. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins and countless caring friends and close neighbors. When next you gather, raise your glass and toast Bob’s memory.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife June L. Frederick (nee Robinson), parents Harold J. and Jeanette R. (nee Huth) Frederick, and sister Margaret K. (Peggy) Damon.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14th at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst Township. Those attending his final goodbye are requested to gather by the Carillon tower along the main boulevard of the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Reverend Daniel O. Divis, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church will preside.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be directed to Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
