Olga Bernhardt, 86, Loved Spending Time with Grandchildren

Photo of Olga Bernhardt Olga V. Bernhardt, 86, of Lorain passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a brief illness.

She was born November 1, 1924 in Amherst Township. She moved to Lorain in the late 1940's.

Mrs. Bernhardt was a generous home maker and mother who had a fun sense of humor. She enjoyed skating and bowling. She loved to spend time with her grand and great grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her sons Robert M. Jr., Steven A. (Karen), Bret O. and Donald Bernhardt all of Lorain, William E. Bernhardt of Sheffield Township and David K. Bernhardt of Jacksonville, Florida. her daughter Deborah A. (John) Jezierski of Lorain; sisters Mary Kiss of Columbus, Velma "Tootsie" Putnoky of Marion, North Carolina, Joan (Joseph ) Dunlap of Onawa, Iowa and Shirley Mowery of Lorain; sister in laws Ellen Vargo of Amherst and Pat Vargo of Knoxville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Robert M. Bernhardt in 1993; son Warren D. Bernhardt in 1977; sister Percy Harmon, brothers Frank, Steve and Joe Vargo; and grandchildren Jawan and Stephanie Bernhardt.

Her family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. Pastor Vanessa Young of Point of Grace Ministry, Sheffield Village will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.
