Harry N. Gray, 79, Enjoyed Woodworking

Photo of Harry N. Gray Harry N. Gray, 79, of Vermilion, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 in Community Health Partners West after a short illness.

He was born June 19, 1926 in Equality, Alabama and has been a Vermilion resident since 1959, moving from Detroit, MI.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and also a veteran of the Conservation Crop.

He worked as a metal finisher for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 27 � years retiring in 1986. He had also worked for Hudson Motor Car Co. in Detroit; Chrysler Corp in Detroit; and US Rubber.

He was a 17 year member of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion where he was a very active church member, helping with children’s sermons and ushering. He had been a member of the Ely Masonic Lodge #424 and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Marceline “Marty” D. Gray; son, Harry Gray, Jr. of Prairie Hill, TX; step-son, Dewey Eddie Hall of North Olmsted; 5 grandsons, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Ellen Williams of Cawood, KY and Lucy Helton of Cawood, KY; and brother Jack and Raymond Gray of Cawood, KY.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Dicie Ellen (nee Lawson) Gray; his first wife, Atcha (nee Conn) Gray in 1985; 8 brothers; James, Mason, Ernest, Johnnie, Bill, Frank, Carrol and Milton Gray; and 2 sisters Nellie Turner and Mamie Marcum.

Friends may call Monday, April 10, 2006 from 3-7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12 Noon at the Friendship Baptist Church, Cawood, KY. Interment will follow in Fields Cemetery, Cawood, KY.

A memorial service will be held in Vermilion at a later date.
