Frank Bober, 94, US Steel Retiree

Frank Bober, 94, of Lorain, died Thursday March 10, 2005 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness.

He was born May 22, 1910 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Frank worked at US Steel in Lorain as a millwright in the blast furnace retiring in 1975 after 34 years.

He was a member of United Steelworkers Local #1104. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and mechanical work on cars.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Clara (nee Eglinski), daughter Barbara Kosa of Lorain, son Lee Bober of Lorain, daughter Karen Foil of Lorain and son James Bober of Berlin Heights, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin & Anna (nee Betka) Bober, grandson Stephan Foil, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

The family will receive friends Sunday 6-9 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
