Women's Soccer Announces 2012 Incoming Class

July 9, 2012 — Head Women's Soccer Coach Kristen Hayden announced her incoming freshman class on Friday afternoon.

"Each of these players are valuable additions to our team," Hayden said. "They all have a strong soccer skill set that we are looking to build upon in the coming years. I can't wait for them to get here and get aquatinted with our team."

Name: Amethyst Carey
High School: Stuart Country Day School (Princeton, NJ)
Intended Major: Creative Writing & Psychology

Athletics Info:
Scored the first-ever goal in Stuart Country history last season ... Was a member of the Club Ewing Girls Soccer Association where she was a part of an undefeated team and a team that finished third overall in the league ... She is holds 11 school records in track and field and is part of the relay team that won the state championship in the 4x100 last year.

Non-Athletics Info:
Was a member of the school choir and worked as a stage manager for the Upper School of Music ... A chairman of the spirit committee, Carey has also worked as a reporter for the school newspaper and enjoys doing community service.

Name: Sarah Willette
High School: Fairview High School (Boulder, CO)
Intended Major: English

Athletics Info:
As a senior Willette helped Fairview reach the semifinals of the 5A Colorado State Tournament ... A former co-captain and Offensive MVP, Willete helped her club team, Boulder County Force, finish second in the Classic 2 Division in 2010 ... In addition to soccer, she also plays ruby and lacrosse.

Was the recipient of Fairview's English Department Scholarship and served on the school's diversity panel.

Name: Helena Huizenga
High School: Greater Atlanta Christian School (Duluth, GA)

As team captain, Huizenga helped guide her squad to the 2012 AA state title after finishing second overall in 2011 ... A member of the 2010 Regional Championship team, Huizenga also earned the Spartan Spirit Award and the 2012 Ray Kroc Award which is award to the graduating senior who best exhibits the qualities of leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and sportsmanship.

Non-Athletics Info:
A Summa Cum Laude graduate, she was the secretary for the National Honor Society and a junior board member for the Atlanta Mission.

Name: Tricia Souza
High School: Columbus North High School (Columbus, IN)
Intended Major: Undecided

Athletics Info:
Souza missed all of the 2011 season with an injury, but the midfielder scored three goals with six assists in 2010 as the Bull Dogs went 17-6-2 and were state runners-up that season ... She also played basketball for two seasons.

Non-Athletics Info:
Off of the pitch, Souza was part a part of the show choir and theatre ... Additionally she was a member of the student government and National Honors Society.
