FAVA Art Classes to Begin Next Week in Downtown Oberlin

January 28, 2010 — Spring semester of art classes is scheduled to begin in the coming week, with offerings for students ages 3 to adult in a wide variety of media. To view the complete course catalog online, visit www.favagallery.org. To receive a catalog by mail, please call (440) 774-7158.

The Spring education program will kick off on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. with a free workshop for adults and teens (ages 16 & up) entitled �Reclaim Your Creativity with Found Object Assemblage�, led by local artist, Rich Thomson. Free LEGO and block building workshops for kids will take place on Saturdays, Feb. 6 and 13, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., led by local artist Elizabeth Meadows.

For Kids:

  • From Monet to Cassat: The 19th Century Impressionists, w/ Kathleen Digney. Mondays, Feb. 1 - Mar. 1 (5 class meetings), 5:30 - 7 p.m. $70/$60 for FAVA members.*

  • Preschool Art, w/ Rachel Mangan. Fridays, Feb 5 - April 23 (12 class meetings), 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 1 - 2 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.*

  • Art After School I (Grades K-2), w/ Donna Coleman. Fridays, Feb. 5 - April 30 (12 class meetings), 4:45 - 5:45 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.*

  • Art After School II (Grades 3-5), w/ Donna Coleman. Thursdays, Feb. 4 - April 29 (12 class meetings), 4:45 - 6 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.*

For Teens:

  • Art After School III (Ages 13-18), w/ Elizabeth Meadows. Tuesdays, Feb. 2 - April 20 (12 class meetings), 4:30 - 6 p.m. $120/$110 for FAVA members.*

For Adults

  • Intro to Drawing, w/ Kathleen Digney. Wednesdays, Feb. 3 - Mar. 3 (5 class meetings), 6 - 8 p.m. $80/$70 for FAVA members.*
  • The Handwriting Clinic Workshop, w/ Andrius Balukas. Wednesdays, Feb. 3 - 24 (4 class meetings), 7 - 8:30 p.m. $60/$50 for FAVA members.*
