Derek Trucks Band to Play at Oberlin�s Finney Chapel

August 27, 2009 — In support of its newest album, Already Free, acclaimed blues-rock sextet The Derek Trucks Band will play Sept. 11, 2009 at 8 p.m. in Finney Chapel, located at the corner of 90 North Professor and West Lorain (Ohio Route 511).

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through Central Ticket Service noon to 5 p.m., Monday � Friday in the lobby of Hall Auditorium ((440)775-8169, (800)371-0178). If available, tickets will be sold at the door before the concert.

The Derek Trucks Band has been a fixture on the national blues-rock scene since its formation in 1994. Derek Trucks � a slide guitar prodigy, who began touring with high-profile artists at the age of nine � has been hailed by Rolling Stone as �the best guitarist of his generation.� Already Free is also the sextet�s most successful album to date, having debuted at #19 on Billboard�s Top 200 chart.

Trucks� group is the latest in a series of highly regarded blues-rock bands to play at Oberlin. In the last two years, Oberlin has hosted slide guitarist Robert Randolph, jazz-rock trio Soulive, and Grammy award-winning blues legend Taj Mahal.
