Board Offers Free Certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid

April 4, 2017 — Learn an action plan to help young people experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Become certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid at a free training on the mornings of April 20 and 21.

The is offering a free certification course on April 20 and 21, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Amy Levin Conference and Learning Center at 1165 North Ridge Road East in Lorain.

Anyone 18 or older who lives, works, or volunteers in Lorain County can take Youth Mental Health First Aid. It is highly recommended for those who regularly have contact with young people ages 12 to 18: teachers, coaches, social workers, faith leaders, parents, and other caring adults. It is also a valuable skill and certification for anyone working as or studying to become a healthcare professional.
