January 25, 2017 — is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Lorain City Schools. In July 2017 LCMT will return to Lorain to celebrate its 40th Anniversary production of Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'. Performances will be held at the beautiful, new, state-of-the-art Lorain Performing Arts Center, which is part of the new Lorain High School.

LCMT began performing at the original Lorain High in 1977 before moving to the in its third season. From 2010 until 2016 LCMT performed at . LCMT is thrilled to be returning home where it all began, and even more excited to begin a partnership with the and its Drama Department. Students of Lorain City Schools will be given opportunities to participate in LCMT's productions onstage and off. Opportunities may include being part of the cast, orchestra, technical crew, or production staff internships. This will provide students more theater and enrichment opportunities during the summer.

Auditions for Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' will take place on March 25th and 26th at St. Peter School (3601 Oberlin Ave.). This production, directed/choreographed by Monica Olejko with musical direction by Anthony Trifiletti, will include a large cast of all ages from children to adults. Auditions will be offered at three different times (March 25th 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., March 25th 5:00 - 7:30 p.m., or March 26th 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.). Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the audition start time for registration, and plan on staying for the duration of the scheduled time. Since its beginning in 1977, LCMT has brought quality musical productions to the residents of Lorain County. From its first summer show, My Fair Lady, area performers and volunteers have worked diligently each summer to bring a bit of 'Broadway' to the stage. Literally thousands of people have been given the opportunity to perform on stage, serve as production staff, volunteer as Board members, and provide general assistance to bring each one of our productions to life. LCMT's 2016 production of 'Into the Woods' won 6 out of 7 musical category awards from Broadway World's Cleveland Theater Awards.
