Lorain County JVS Marketing Students Compete at Regional DECA Competition

December 2, 2012 — The and DECA program students recently participated in the Districts 9 and 10 Fall Conference at the Nia Conference Center in Sandusky, OH. One Hundred Forty-Nine students from Cuyahoga, Seneca, and Lorain County DECA programs competed in five business and marketing related events that included Sports Management, Travel, Hospitality, Fashion, and Entertainment. The top five teams from each competitive event were recognized with a certificate award.

In addition, all Lorain County JVS and North Ridgeville Marketing Education students will be competing in the winter DECA District 9 competitions at the Nia Conference Center on February 8, 2013 for a chance to compete at the State of Ohio level, and then for a spot for the DECA National competitions to take place in Anaheim, CA in April.

Brookside

Elyria

  • Annmarie Pincura placed 1st on the Travel team event

  • Kaitlynn Kristoff placed 1st on the Entertainment team event

Keystone
  • Sabrina Kunkler placed 1st on the Travel team event

Midview

  • Marissa Koenig and Erika Murphy placed 3rd on the Fashion team event

North Ridgeville

  • Victoria Larsick, Cassandra Mattix and Jenna Yost placed 3rd in the Hospitality event

  • Alesha Baroni, Devin Johnson and Kara Keller placed 4th in the Hospitality event

  • Ryan Robinson, Evan Rudo and Thomas Sheehan placed 5th in the Hospitality event

  • Liz Beard, Emily Daveant and Jessica Lentz placed 2nd in the Sports event

  • Elizabeth Browning, Liz Butler, Jason Lucas and Kayla MacKenzie placed 3rd in the Sports event

  • Matt Alewine, Nick Archacki and Anthony Petsas placed 4th in the Sports event

  • Nick Asp, Tyler DeShetler, Garrett Orseno and Colin Riley placed 5th in the Sports event

  • Drew Hosler, Marc Ireland and Daniel Spencer placed 3rd in the Travel event

  • Marianna Blaylock, Don Henderson and Megan Hermensky placed 2nd in the Entertainment event

  • Michael McNamara, Brad Sundheimer and Chad Valega placed 5th in the Entertainment event

  • Cassidy Basney, Katie Davis and Jessica Northrup placed 1st in the Fashion event

  • Ashlee Gfell and Jessica Renner placed 2nd in the Fashion event

  • Erin Meinert, Danielle Noble and Emily Perry placed 4th in the Fashion event

  • Briana Reinke and Michaela Wyatt placed 5th in the Fashion event

  • Luke Ozanich (Lorain County JVS) placed 3rd on the Fashion team event

Oberlin

  • Breanna Richardson placed 1st on the Travel team event

Wellington

  • Jacob Holliday placed 1st on the Entertainment team event
