Constance Mendiola, 42, Known for Her Thoughtfulness, Kindness, and Selflessness

Photo of Constance  Mendiola Constance "Erin" Mendiola, (nee Curnutte), age 42, of Lorain, passed away suddenly on Sunday March 24, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Born in Amherst on May 12, 1981, Erin was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her six children; she was known for her thoughtfulness, kindness, and selflessness. Possessing a smile that could light up any room, she thrived academically, especially during her time participating in the JROTC program at Southview High School from which she graduated in 1999. She possessed high skills in marksmanship and won the right to represent her program in the Ohio State JROTC Rifle Competition.

Erin found joy in her morning coffee on the porch, gardening, reading and bicycle riding. Cherished the most, was the time she spent with her children.

Erin will be deeply missed by her mother and step-father Deborah (nee Curnutte) and Gregory Ortega of Lorain, father Jeffrey Farabaugh also of Lorain, children Alyssa, David, Isella, Sofia, Joel Mendiola, and Aila Perez all of Lorain, siblings Aftin Coyne (Torrero) of North Ridgeville along with Kristen and Timothy Murr of Florida. Additional survivors include her grandmother Donna Dickson of Lorain, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Erin was preceded in death by her grandfather David Dickson, and maternal grandmother and grandfather Gwendolyn Curnutte and Pedro Fernando Delarino all of Lorain along with a variety of other relatives.

Visitation will be Friday April 5th from 3:00 p.m. until the time of prayer services beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel � 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Mr. Isaac Negron will officiate.
