Florentino "Tino" Leibas, 85, U.S. Air Force Veteran

Photo of Florentino Florentino “Tino” Leibas, 85 of Lorain, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 after suffering for 8 years with dementia in Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain.

He was born October 18, 1937 in Malakoff, Texas to Silverio and Maria (née Hernandez) Leibas.

Tino attended Lorain High School, then he entered into the United States Air Force and was Honorably discharged in 1959. He retired from the Ford Motor. Tino was a baseball coach for his sons in the Lorain City Leagues. Tino enjoyed reading; medical, health and triller novels. He also liked to cook.

His survivors include his sons, Dale Haley (Susan) and Matthew, Mark (Maureen) and Dean (Angel) Leibas; daughter, Tina Marks (Randy); brothers, Gene (Anna), Joe (Ester) and Tony Leibas; sisters, Susan Dominguez and Marie Leibas; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents Tino was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francisco and Florencia Hernandez, who raised him.

His family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, (440) 277-8164, Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM. Friends may also call at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055, Friday, April 28 from 9 until 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. The Rev. Father, William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Military Honors will be conducted by the AMVETS Post 32 Elyria.

His family suggests contributions to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund.
