Stella Feskanin, 93, Enjoyed Cooking, Knitting, and Crocheting

Photo of Stella  Feskanin Stella Feskanin (nee Olah), 93, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin Wednesday November 9, 2022.

She was born August 2, 1929 to Julius & Irma Meri Olah (nee Saxon). She attended Vincent Elementary School and graduated from Clearview High School in 1947.

After high school, Stella worked for Keller Truck Farm near the tracks on West River Road which was run by her brother Julius. She also worked as a telephone operator for AT&T in Omaha, Nebraska and Cleveland.

She met Ronald Feskanin in September 1951 and they eloped in Angola, Indiana. They were later married at St Peter Parish in Lorain.

Stella had many talents such as cooking stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, chicken paprikas (all too delicious to turn down), knitting & crocheting. She enjoyed casino gambling and also liked to ride a motorcycle sitting behind her husband. They had traveled through 27 states, around Lake Erie and Canada.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years Ronald Feskanin, son Ronald Feskanin Jr, grandchildren Jason Ream & Heather Lange and great grandchildren Nina Rendiero & Skylar Ream, all whom she loved immensely. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sharon Lynn Lange, brothers: Julius, Nick & John Olah; sisters: Otilla Meyers, Goldie Aikens, Magdalene Perry and Ethel McCartney and nephew Carl Olah.

The family will receive friends Sunday November 13, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday November 14, 2022 at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev David Trask, pastor of St Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington, will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
