John O. Laws, 72, Enjoyed Barbecuing and Grilling For His Family
John O. Laws, 72 of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital following a month-long illness, surrounded by family.
Mr. Laws was born on October 16, 1949 to the son of the late, John O. and Edna W. (nee Burdett) Laws. He graduated from Admiral King High School, Lorain.
John worked at the U.S Steel Plant in Lorain. During his 30 years there, he worked as a wire man, then the last 3 years in the fire department. John was a member and an official of the USW local #1104, Lorain. He enjoyed barbecuing and grilling for his family and doing yard work.
John is survived by his wife of 32 years Bernadette "Bonnie" (nee Snyder) Laws; his son Robert Laws; step children Lorrie Daniels, Brian Daniels, and Chrissie Zura; sisters Cheryl Quickle of California, Sandy (Don) Rottari of Wakeman, Michelle (Brian) Laws of Tampa, Florida; brother Steven "Larry" Laws of Tampa; grandchildren Adam, Blake, Jacob and Olivia Laws; step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Other than his parents John was preceded in death by his son John M Laws.
His family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4 PM until time of service at 7 PM.
