Charles W. Geisel, 78, Will be Dearly Missed

Photo of Charles W. Geisel Charles W. “Chuck” Geisel, age 78, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of Wednesday April 5, 2017 while a resident of the Mercy New Life Hospice of St. Joseph.

Born in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania on August 10, 1938, Chuck had been a resident of Lorain since 1954.

He was employed for thirty years as a paint inspector at Ford Motor Company’s Lorain Assembly Plant; he retired in 1997.

A member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain, Chuck had also been active as a member and Past Master of Ely Masonic Lodge # 424 F. & A.M. of Vermilion. In addition, he had also served as Leader of Boy Scout Troop # 331 for eighteen years.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Michaels Geisel (nee Lane), sons Charles W. Geisel, Jr. of Lewisville, Texas, along with Joseph M Geisel and James C. Geisel both residing in Lorain. He also leaves stepchildren John Michaels of Lorain, Melissa Gilkes of Cane Ridge, Tennessee, Stephanie Steffes of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Jennifer Michaels of Athens, Ohio along with ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Chuck was preceded in death by his first wife Alice (nee Jenkins) in 2002, parents Joseph and Martha (nee Sevas) Geisel, brothers Clyde, Clarence, Joseph, and Paul Robert, as well as sisters Lydia and Rebecca Louise Cullen.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. A Masonic service conducted by Ely Lodge F. & A.M. will take place there at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel with Reverend Jimmy Madsen, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church presiding. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.

The family encourages memorial contributions to either First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mercy New Life Hospice, or Kingston of Vermilion.
