Nancy L. Maiden, 71, Enjoyed Reading & Music

Photo of Nancy L. Maiden Nancy L. Maiden, 71, (nee Rickard) of Sheffield Lake passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at University Hospital-EMH peacefully in the company of her loving family.

Mrs. Maiden was born in Cleveland Heights on October 17, 1944, the daughter of the late Norman H. and Malville H (nee Nagy) Rickard. She was a graduate of Amherst Marion Steele High School Class of 1962, and attended secretarial school.

She was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church in Amherst, serving as a deaconess, lay reader and a Hand Bell Ringer.

She retired in 2006, as the assistant manager & book keeper at Hearthstone Assisted Living in Lorain. She had previously worked at Center Ridge House (Home for Disabled Children and Adults) in Westlake as book keeper and office manager.

Mrs. Maiden was a member of Daughters of Mokanna, and a formerly a member of the O.E.S-Queen City Chapter, Beauceant in Lakewood, Campanella Bell Ringers at First Congregational Church in Elyria, and served as Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Chronic Pain Support Group.

She enjoyed reading, playing and listening to music, traveling, socializing with her groups cooking Hungarian food.

Mrs. Maiden is survived by her daughter, Anita L Maiden of Sheffield Lake, son Norman G Maiden of Columbus, her brother David N. (Eileen) Rickard, of Strongsville and her nephew Todd (Gina) Rickard of Atlanta, GA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband G. David O. Maiden in 2013, son Seth D. Maiden in 2008, and her brother Tedd Rickard in 2015.

Friends may call on Friday June 10, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until the Celebration of Her Life at 11:30 a.m. in Heritage Presbyterian Church, 515 North Leavitt Road, Amherst with Rev. Jenni Walker Noyes, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be private.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 834, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
