Photo of Goran Ilievski Goran Ilievski, 32, of Medina, fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the main campus of Cleveland Clinic after an almost a three year battle with lung cancer.

While his childhood was spent in his beloved Pretor in Macedonia, he was born on February 7, 1984 in Bitola. His youth marked one of the best times in his life filled with enjoyment amongst family and friends.

On Mother’s Day in 2006, he left Macedonia and immigrated to Elyria, not knowing he would meet the love of his life, his future wife on December 8 of the same year amongst the Macedonian community. In America, he continued his schooling attending full-time all while being a full-time employee. He received his Bachelor of Science in Automation Engineering from the University of Akron in 2015. His work experience was varied but his latest was as an Automation Engineer at Shiloh Industries, Inc. and hard worker was how everyone knew him in business or personal life.

He respected, loved and enjoyed living in his home country of the United States. However, he never forgot the experiences and traditional richness of the history and culture of his motherland Macedonia, which he proudly chose to impart this Macedonian heritage to his son through his daily activities, work and moral ethics along with his involvement within the Macedonian church community of St Clement of Ohrid in Avon, Ohio.

He is survived by his parents Mendo and Vasilka (Nedanovska) Ilievski and younger sister Vesna (Ilievska) Todorovska, by wife Angela (Nakovska) Ilievska and son Gorjan Ilievski, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

His all-time favorite pastime was – “да пие кафенце и цигарче под црешата до родната куќа во Претор” – “to drink coffee under the cherry tree next to his house in Pretor.”

Friends and family, next time you enjoy a cup of coffee, please kindly send a prayer for him and his family!

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial contributions to be directed to the family for creating a college fund for his descendant(s).

His family will receive friends Tuesday, June 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain.
