Samuel Serrano, 63, Devoted Father

Photo of Samuel Serrano Samuel Serrano, 63 of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 in New Life Hospice Center, Lorain from Lung Cancer.

He was born December 4, 1951 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain 1954.

Samuel worked as a gardener for Maria’s Gardens in Columbia Station. He worked in greenhouses and other companies for over 40 years.

He will be missed by his sons Sammy Serrano and James Hamilton Serrano both of Lorain and Samuel Serrano of California; daughters Maria “Nezzie” of Ocala Florida and Isabel Serrano of Elyria; brothers Tomas, Eugenio, Jr., Luis, Daniel and Eliezer Serrano all of Lorain, Israel and Joel Serrano of Orlando, Florida; sisters Nolie Cabrera, Carmen Sanchez, Leyda Jackson and Ruth Payne all of Lorain, Elizabeth “Lisa” and Lillian Glasper of Gainesville, Georgia and companion of 15 years Toni.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents Eugenio and Carmen Serrano; brother Eliseo Serrano.

His family will receive friends Monday from 10 AM until time of his funeral service at 12 PM in the House of Praise International, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Pastor Mark Hebebrand will officiate.
