Charles L. Glover, 96, WWII Army Veteran

Photo of Charles L. Glover Charles L. Glover, age 96, of Amherst, died Friday December 12, 2014 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness.

He was born January 5, 1918 in Mannington, WV, and resided in this area since 1950.

He was a WW2 Army veteran, serving on the front lines in Germany.

Charles worked as an auto mechanic at Barber Motors in Elyria for 10 years, retiring in 1985. Prior to that he worked 17 years as a welder at Fruehauf Trailer Co.

He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Evelyn (nee Hayes), sons David Lee Glover of Medina, Randy Lee Glover of Lorain, and daughter Shirley Jean Harrill of SC, grandchildren Jason Allen, Jennifer Lynn, and Ryan Alan Glover, and a brother Pete Glover of WV.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Hattie Glover, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends may call for memorial visitation on Thursday December 18th from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm. At Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Military honors will be conducted at 6:30 pm by VFW Post 451 and American Legion Post 30.
