Henry S. Lewandowski, 72, Enjoyed Camping and Baseball

Photo of Henry S. Lewandowski Henry S. Lewandowski, 72, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain, OH. Taking leave of this world, he embarks on his journey into the next in the presence of those who loved him and whom he loved so dearly.

Henry was born November 15, 1938 in Buffalo, NY to his loving parents, Henry A. and Helen (nee: Nadolski) Lewandowski and moved to Lorain, OH in 1962.

In 1956 he enlisted in the United States Army and he was honorably discharged in 1959. He returned home during his services to marry his loving bride, Marcia A. Lewandowski on May 17, 1958. Henry was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Parish in Lorain, OH and he worked for the Ford Motor Company in Buffalo, NY and Lorain, OH for 33 years. He also worked at the Kansas City Royals Spring Training in Davenport, FL and Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL.

Henry enjoyed camping, baseball, traveling and spending time with his adored grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years of marriage, Marcia A. (nee:Brzezinski) Lewandowski of Lorain, OH; sons, Henry Jr. “Skip” (Beth) Lewandowski of Lorain, OH and Andy (Elina) Lewandowski of St. Augustine, FL; daughters, Linda (Dale) DiFrancesco of Lorain, OH Donna (Ken) Bushee of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Stanley A. (Edith) Lewandowski of Lorain, OH and Richard P. (Vera Lee) Lewandowski of Vermilion, OH; grandsons, Brett Bushee, Adam Lewandowski and Aaron (Leslie), Nathaniel (Jill) and Elijah (Madelyn) Haslage; granddaughters, Hannah, Hollybeth and Heather Haslage, Amber and Ally Lewandowski and Lexie and McKenzie Bushee; great-grandsons, Alex, Colin, Ian and Jacob Haslage; great-granddaughter, Piper Haslage; nephews, Michael Lewandowski and Joshua Placta; and nieces, Debra Roggeman, Amy Placta and Rhiannon and Chelsea Wanderlich.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Dominic Lewandowski; and his parents Henry A. and Helen Lewandowski.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150, Broadway, Lorain, OH (440) 244-1961 on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2:00 – 7:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Nativity B.V.M. Parish, 418 West 15th Street, Lorain, OH 44052, Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor, officiating and Fr. Craig Hovanec, con-celebrant. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH, where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 30 and the VFW Post451.
