Ana Chaparro, 81, Enjoyed Sewing Quilts for her Family, Cooking and Gardening

She was born August 29, 1929 in Aguada, Puerto Rico. She made Lorain her home in June 4, 1955.

Ana was a loving and very generous mother and housewife. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, Lorain. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family, cooking, gardening, playing bingo and giving her possessions away. She was also a member of El Dorado Senor Center, Lorain. She was always a generous hostess and known for her wonderful coffee.

She will be dearly missed by her son Santiago (Lucy) Chaparro, Jr. of Lorain; daughters Lucy (Daniel) Rodriguez of Orlando, Florida, Brunilda (Roberto) DelValle and Doris E. Rosado both of Lorain; brothers Primitivo, Juan C. (Carmen) and Ramon (Virginia) Torres all of Lorain; grandchildren Michelle A. (Ismael) Rosario of Elyria, Danise (Manuel J.) Garcia of Orlando, Anamalie (Glenn) Mah of Los Angelis, California, Maritza and Santiago Chaparro III of Lorain and Victoria L. Garcia of Lorain; Great Grandchildren Antonio I. and Emily A. Rosado both of Lorain, Lumari J. Ortiz of Lorain and Estela L Garcia of Orlando; former daughter in law Sonia Gonzalez of Lorain; former son in law Miguel A. Alvarado, Jr. of Lorain; former sister in laws Milila Torres and Carmen Rosario both of Lorain. Ana also leaves many nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and friends who also loved her.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 44 years Santiago Chaparro, Sr. July 22, 1988; her parents Nicolas and Maria (nee Cardona) Torres; son Candido Chaparro; sisters Leona and Perfecta Torres; granddaughter Celena Rodriguez and sister in law Raquel Torres.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio, (440) 277-8164. Where, her funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pastor Frank Palacios of Church of Jesus Christ Restored Gospel, Lorain, and Rev. Daniel Reyes of Templo Emmanuel Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio.
