Billie R. Simpson, 74, Enjoyed bowling and her family

Billie R. Simpson (nee Thompson), 74, of Lorain died Tuesday December 30, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.

She was born November 23, 1929 in Mulga, Alabama and had resided in Lorain since 1951.

Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Church of God in Sheffield Village. She enjoyed bowling and her family.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years George W. “Buster” Simpson, Sr. of Lorain, sons: George W. Simpson, Jr. and Michael L. Simpson, both of Lorain, daughter Delia Rieger of Lorain, 6 grandsons, 5 great grandchildren and sisters Patricia Gaskey and Cheryl Davis, both of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ruth Thompson (nee Gallimore) and sister Elizabeth Graybeal.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Church of God, 2280 Abbe Rd., Sheffield Village where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Michael LeBuhn, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain.
