Mary L. Bevins, 75, Cook

Mary L. Bevins, (nee Wilson), 75, of Lorain, died on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a lengthy illness.

She was born on February 10, 1927 in Kaiser, West Virginia. She had lived in Tucson, Arizona, Washington D.C. and Swanton, Maryland, before moving to Lorain 49 years ago.

She was employed as a cook at French Creek Tavern. Prior to this she was a baker at Aquamarine Lodge, in Avon Lake fro 13 years.

Mary enjoyed baking wedding cakes.

She is survived by her sons: Francis Bevins of Lorain, Charles Ward of Swanton, Maryland, Edgar Butts of Amherst and Wesley Bevins of Elyria, daughters: Twila Pirkle, Cheryl Mudrich and Nancy Bevins Toothman all of Lorain, 16 grandchildren, 16-great grandchildren, brothers: David Lee Wilson of Deep Creek Lake, MD, Bobby Wilson, of Swanton, MD, sisters: Betty Wilt of Accident, MD, Louise Murphy and Sara Richards both of Kaiser, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Bevins in 1998, parents: Verne and Ruth (nee Liller) Wilson, brother: Verne Wilson, Jr. and sister Frances Wilt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Rev. Dave Reynolds, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
