Ruth C. Piwinski, 74, Housewife, Mother, Homemaker

Ruth C. Piwinski (nee Krueck), 74 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a brief illness.

She was born April 2, 1928 in Amherst where she was raised and graduated from Amherst High School in 1920. She has been a lifetime resident of the Amherst, Henrietta Township area.

Ruth was a housewife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Nativity B.V.M. of South Amherst where she was baptized and raised. She worked for Lane Bryant in Elyria for 20 years in sales. She loved to read and solving crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Anthony T. Piwinski; her son Anthony S. Piwinski of Elyria, Walter C. Piwinski of Oberlin, and Donald A. Piwinski, Sr. of LaGrange; her daughter, Suzanne M. Szalkiewicz of South Amherst; 4 grandchildren; her brother Clarence Krueck of Amherst, her sister, Dorothy Barkert of Amherst.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lena (nee Bark) Krueck; and by her sister Carol Krueck; and a grand-daughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from nativity B.V.M., 333 South Lake Street, South Amherst. The Rev. Father Denis St. Marie, pastor of Nativity B.V.M., will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice; 5255 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
