July 16, 2012 — EMH Healthcare has opened a brand new, state-of-the-art sleep lab in Avon. Located within the EMH Avon Health Campus off of Detroit Road near Route 83, the new facility offers patients a quiet, beautiful setting in which to have their sleep disorders diagnosed. The EMH Avon Sleep Lab is the second sleep lab operated by EMH Healthcare. The first is located within .

The EMH Avon Sleep Lab features two fully-furnished suites with queen-sized beds and flat screen televisions. Each suite includes a private bathroom, complete with extra-large showers that are handicap accessible. The modern, relaxing décor enhances patient comfort, and also includes specialized recliners to accommodate those who do not sleep in beds, as well as bariatric patients. Roll-away beds are also available for a member of the patient's family to stay overnight if they wish to do so.

Estimates indicate that approximately 40 million Americans suffer from some sort of sleep disorder. Using the latest technology, licensed, registered EMH sleep technologists interpret the cause of patients' sleep disorders, and then explain the treatment options available to them. The Sleep Labs of EMH Healthcare are currently the only ACHC (Accreditation Commission for Health Care) accredited sleep labs in Lorain County, and are qualified Medicare testing sites.
