Environmental Design Group (EDG) and inSITE have proposed economic development site plans for each of the four Lakefront communities: Avon Lake, Lorain, Sheffield Lake and Vermilion. These plans are a result of conversations with local officials and input from the community obtained at public meetings this summer.

In addition, EDG has created an alternative transportation plan along St. Rt. 6 with input from local officials. The community also provided input during public meetings this summer. This plan will improve access for
walking and bicycling along St. Rt. 6 and help guide decision making for future implementation. Estimated costs of construction and potential sources of funding will also be included in the final plan.

Before the final plan is completed, residents of Lorain County and the Lakefront Communities are invited to attend the final public meeting to see the proposed transportation and economic development concepts for the Lorain County Lakefront Connectivity Plan. Attendees at the meeting will also be provided an opportunity to comment on the plans as well as voting on how each recommendation should be implemented.
