TEE Student Wins Gold at National FCCLA Event

Courtney Dendorfer, of Wellington, represented the JVS (Website | Profile) at the 2009 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in July. Courtney is a Firelands High School (Website | Profile) student who participated in the JVS Teacher Education Exploration program.
Courtney’s award winning project was called “Teach & Train.” She taught lessons to elementary aged children at Firelands Elementary School (Website | Profile) in Oberlin (Website | Profile) and compiled a binder showing her accomplishments with the project. She received a gold medal for her project at the national event.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only career-technical in-school student organization with the family as its central focus. Participation in national programs and chapter activities helps members become strong leaders in their families, careers, and communities.
