| Cabby:"I, too, was at one of the community meetings held in the McCormick auditorium, and "many were interested in ... a feasibility study" is a stretch. I only remember two- you and Mrs. Giar."
There was a lady and her son that were setting up front. Ralph Wright and his wife up front, as well. Mr. and Mrs. Giar, too. Based on each of their comments, they expressed some level of interest in what could be done to keep McCormick and completely update it. Including myself, that's five people. There was a woman and a young girl, a teacher from McCormick and another man that left before the end of the meeting. I am guessing this might have been you.
Cabby:"You also say that, "A comment was also made at the meeting that people want the details and all of the information so they can make informed decisions." There is obviously only so much you can do to educate the public."
I agree, completely. The way I perceived the comment was that people are "trusting" that the information presented is complete and accurate, so they can make informed decisions during an election. Again, if they find out something wasn't completed they might think twice before supporting future school issues.
Cabby:"Dr. Cardenzana had a public meeting just like the one you're referring to (you were there too), and there was virtually no turnout to ask questions and get the facts."
It's unfortunate that this was and continues to be the case. I don't understand why people are not showing an interest in something of this magnitude. |
