5/22 -- An Air Quality Advisory for ozone and fine particles has been issued for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit Counties. The advisory will be effective from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. Air quality levels will be 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' during this period. Full Story

5/19 -- There will be a steak fry at St. Thomas Catholic School (Profile) on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 5-11 p.m. Dinner will be served from 5-7 and there is also a DJ with dancing. Firelands High to Face Olmsted Falls in Scholastic Games Academic Championship After Defeat of North Ridgeville

The academic team from Firelands High School, left to right, Kevin Harris, team captain Jake Westfall, and Terry Long, was heard on the May 14th semifinal broadcast of the Scholastic Games quiz program on WEOL radio (AM 930).
5/16 -- Firelands High School (Website | Profile) will be the challenger as Olmsted Falls High School goes for its second consecutive championship on the radio quiz program featuring academic teams from Lorain County high schools. On the Scholastic Games of Lorain County, a weekly series heard on WEOL (AM 930), the May 14th semifinal broadcast ended with a score of Firelands 420, North Ridgeville 390. It was an unusual competition in that it was won in the first three rounds of questions, those in which the fewest points are usually scored. Full Story
