More Than Just a Maze Made of Corn Stalks!
Diane Chestnut, The Friends of Harbour Town, Inc.

October 2, 2009 -- Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be lost in a corn field, in the dark, with some sort of scary species of man or beast? It's dark out there, much darker then when you entered the field. There are so many weird shapes that seem to dance before you, now you see them now you don’t, could they be real? The corn stalks have an imposing, deceptive stance out here; so much taller and so much wider. You might ask am I getting smaller. – have I shrunk? There’s so many twist and turns – which way do I go? If I turn right what lies before me, an ugly demon or monster, and should I turn the other way will I regret that choice? Yes, it is more than just a maze made of corn stalks.

The Friends of Harbour Town Haunted School, present 2009 “Terror in the Field”. In our first year placing our haunted creatures in Brian Novotny’s corn field was such a success that we are bringing it back for this year’s haunted season. We had so many people go through the maze again and again.

Behind Novotny Farm Market (Profile) you will find, “2009 Terror in the Field” at 1809 State St. (Rt. 60), Vermilion (across from the Friendship Gas Station. The demons are let lose at dusk and remain in the field till 11 p.m., donation for adults $10 and children under 48” $5. You will be walking ˝ mile or more in a real live corn field so wear appropriate clothes and footware for such an adventure. If you get scared easily you might have to run!

The “Terror in the Field” starts Friday night, Oct. 2nd, 2009. For more information, call (440) 654-8847. $1 off each ticket for groups of 25 or more. Open October Friday and Saturday Nights, closed Sundays – Open Halloween.
