Topic: General Conversation (81,105 views) Title: Giving Credit Where It's Due Message: The LC.com member known as "Huntryss" took on a task last summer that has yet to be acknowledged and thanked. She went into many of the downtown businesses of Oberlin and spoke to the managers about putting up a large, laminated poster of a dog from the town shelter. Each business that agreed got their own dog to put in their storefront window, and the posters were beautiful, printed off by her and her husband from photos that he took. They did this out of their own pocket, in an effort to promote the unknown dog shelter and to try to get some of the dogs out of it and into homes. Unfortunately, in the shelter's recent newsletter is a listing of the nearly 40 merchants who sponsored the shelter, but no credit was given to the one person who did all the work. She also printed off hundreds of flyers and pamphlets. This was a project that was never attempted before and months later, two businesses still have their posters up. I think it is time that a thank you and full credit was given to her. Whether or not the posters resulted in any adoptions is anyones guess, but it was a worthwhile attempt to try to help these dogs.
