Sad, Lakewood brings no fans. Less than 30 came to the Avon-Lakewood football game. Small turnout for basketball also. However, I understand their reasoning since N.R. facilities are terrible and both Midview and Lakewood have turf fields.

Sounds easy but Avon has been a growing community with the ability to hire good coaches that also fit into their teaching openings without the teachers union blocking outside hires for coaching only positions. In no growth districts like Lorain, etc., you sometimes do not have that flexibility.

Lorain is, I believe, the 9th largest in boys enrollment in Ohio. If not that high, pretty close. Just because they have such pathetic coaches and cannot compete against those there own size,I guess the obvious would be to play much smaller schools and win some games.
Why not revise the Elyria rivalry? Why won't Elyria play them?
Didn't Lorain just drop Avon?

Lorain should look within and get their act together before trying to force themselves on other schools schedules.

He has a contract. If N.R.'s BOE lets him go without extracting damages (cost of new search, etc.) they do not deserve to have the levy passed. The Supt. is spitting in N.R. eye and I would not let him off easily.
Also, they should report him to the State BOE to see what, if any, repercutions there may be.
This all assumes that they were surprised by his resignation and were not pressuring him to leave.

Lorain and Cleveland schools are the 2 lowest rated in the state! This is beyond comprehension, and you want more money? The entire administration should be replaced and the school board also. Then crackdown on the lazy, worthless teachers who are just going thru the motions
How can anyone in this once proud city accept the fact the our schools are now being compared to Cleveland's??? I never thought Lorain would reach these depths of performance.

The C-T reported that average household income in Lorain County, along with home values,have decreased dramatically the past few years.
Why, given that this county is such a union stronghold with the entire county government from the democratic party? I thought they looked out for their people and not continually drive them further into poverty.

Has anyone heard anything about cost overruns on the your interchange. A friend of mine who works for Avon said they are trucking in fill material from Portage County because the material they were using did not pass a compaction test. If so, trucking alone will be expensive.
