Caring Cup Award

January 30, 2018 The Lorain County Recorder's Office has been awarded the United Way of Greater Lorain County's Lorain County Caring Cup Award to recognize the staff's per capita donation in the amount of $62.80 with 100% participation.

County Recorder Judy Nedwick received the award from Lorain County Auditor Craig Snodgrass and United Way of Greater Lorain County Executive Director Bill Harper.

Law Now in Effect

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 5302.221, all Affidavit of Transfer on Death to be recorded after a persons death must include the completed form "Ohio Medicaid Estate Recovery Form" prior to transfer or recording. Once the Recorder's Office has received the required information, they will submit the forms with a copy of the deed to the Medicaid Recovery Administrator. These forms are required for all Affidavit of Transfer on Death filed after a persons death. If you have questions regarding this new law, please consult an attorney.
