• Have a plan or ask your vet for his recommendation.
• Be prepared to evacuate your home, if necessary, and still be able to take your pets with you.
• Keep a supply of pet food, water, and medical supplies handy to take with you.
• Make sure your pets are wearing updated I.D. tags!
• Have restraints handy, including collars, leashes, and carriers. Even the most normally obedient dog can become very stressed by an emergency. Cats are a different matter…try to get them into carriers immediately.
