Photo of Jeanette A. Leshinski Jeannette A. Leshinski, (nee Zajkowski) age 86, of Lorain, passed away on the morning of Thursday November 9, 2017 while a patient at the Cleveland Clinic.

Born in Lorain on November 7, 1931, Jeannette was a life-long resident of the city and a graduate of Lorain High School.

In her early years she had been employed by the American Stove Company and later as a sales associate at the May Company Department Store at Sheffield Center.

Jeannette was a parishioner of Nativity BVM Catholic Church where she was a former member of the church Sodality.

She enjoyed reading in her free time and possessed a special interest in religious works as well as contemporary women’s periodicals. She also enjoyed coffee, and cooking as well as dining out with Red Lobster being one of her favorite restaurants.

Jeannette was extremely family oriented and enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with her immediate family, pet dogs, and pet cats.

She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-five years Allen, daughter Darlene Baron of Avon, granddaughters Amy and Kristen Baron, sister Anne Kendzel, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Bernice (nee Libuda) Zajkowski, brothers Joseph & Harry, and sisters Genevieve Cyran, Helen Zajkowski, Stella Zajkowski, and Theresa Zajkowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Nativity BVM Catholic Church on Monday November 13, 2017 with Reverend Robert J. Glepko, pastor of the parish presiding. Entombment followed in Calvary Cemetery.

Contributions in Jeannette’s memory are encouraged to either Nativity BVM Catholic Church – 418 West 15th Street, Lorain, OH 44052 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
