Jack Russell Keyser, 79, Enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golf

Jack Russell Keyser, age 79, of Catawba Island, passed away, Sunday, September 14, 2003 at his son’s home in Sheffield Lake, where he had been living for the past six months, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Keyser was born August 19, 1924 in Lorain and had lived in Catawba for the past 27 years.

He was a 1942 graduate of Lorain High School. A World War II Navy Veteran, serving as a Radioman in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #211, Avon Lake, AMVETS, Post 55, Sheffield Lake and the VFW Post, Marblehead. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and hunting.

Mr. Keyser is survived by two sons: Russell (Lois) Keyser of Avon Lake and Thomas (Jennifer) Keyser of Sheffield Lake. Other survivors include five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice (nee Maxon) Keyser, parents Russell and Isabelle (nee Knight) Keyser and stepfather Clyde Hubbell.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, Tuesday, September 16, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 noon. Pastor Eileen Woyen of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Interment will be private in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman, Ohio. Memorials may be forwarded to New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
