November 5, 2009 --
With the start of the basketball season just over a week away, Oberlin College (Website | Profile) fans should be aware that there are three ways to follow all of the action of Yeomen and Yeowomen basketball live online this season.
As in years past all home games will feature live statistics as well as live audio play-by-play. However, new for the 2009-10 season, the athletics department will be providing a free video webcast of all home contests throughout the season courtesy of the Webcast Group.
Longtime “Voice of the Yeomen” Dave DeNatale returns to handle the majority of the audio broadcast, while veteran football color analyst Don Vincent will also fill in for select games.
The best way for fans to follow along is to take advantage of all three features at the same time for complete coverage.
But wait, there will be even more coverage of Oberlin hoops to come as starting next week the athletics department plans to offer free weekly podcasts with Head Men’s Basketball Coach Isaiah Cavaco and Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kerry Jenkins. Fans will be able to access the weekly podcasts on the respective men’s and women’s basketball homepages.
Links for live video, audio and stats will be made available on the men’s and women’s basketball schedule pages as well as the main calendar on the goyeo.com homepage.
The Yeomen’s home opener is set for Sunday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. while the Yeowomen open the season with seven straight road tilts before kicking off an eight-game homestand on Dec. 11 against Ursuline College.
