To anyone who believes in the pledge, you might find the article in the Oberlin Tribune re: the recent board meeting and those who wish the pledge. It made anyone who stood up for the pledge appear a lower life form. It gave the impression all those fighting for the pledge were township people, certainly not the elite city people. What is being taught in Oberlin? Oberlin is boasting the first ever "international program" designed to lure parents into enrollment. It is to show off kids being taught Spanish K-12 and IB which they term "international education." I don't see any international money supporting it, and it concerns me that the education of Americans will be entirely in the hands of other countries.(all tests and papers are sent to another country for grading) I hope Oberlin parents wake-up and see the real story. America is not represented well in Oberlin. Fact is and data proves, Oberlin kids can't meet proficieny for reading and writing English, but they all must learn Spanish. No other choice of language--Spanish. Maybe the high level of inappropriate behaviors is a sign of international ed. What kind of people are running this school? They allow a very liberal often controversial college too much freedom with the children.
