American Elite AllStars of Ohio recently announced the return of its popular Half-Season Cheerleading Teams, offering a weekly cheer option with a reduced fee that allows past, present and future cheerleaders—even those with no previous experience--to train and compete in the sport with a once-weekly practice schedule and a significantly reduced monetary investment.
“We are reinstituting this track partly in response to the economy,” says Coach Wanda Whipkey. “In addition, we’ve had numerous requests to reinstate this option and we know as well that families typically juggle busy schedules, so this also allows young athletes who want to cheer to fit this fun, healthy activity into their weekly routines.”
Athletes ages eight to 14 who register will automatically be placed on a team. The teams’ entire season will run November 2009 through March 2010, and will include three local competitive cheerleading events. Weekly, 90-minute training sessions will take place at each of Elite’s three Northeast Ohio locations: Tallmadge, Solon and North Ridgeville. Days and times vary by location.
While more advanced All-Star cheerleading requires twice the investment in some cases and does not include extras such as uniforms, Elite’s Half-Season Teams cost an all-inclusive $125 a month (for four months), which includes: the season cheer uniform, a practice uniform, all training classes and cheer event pre-registrations for the five-month season.

American Elite AllStars this year celebrates five years of training in the cheer, dance, gymnastics and child fitness disciplines. With three locations in Northeast Ohio--Tallmadge, North Ridgeville and Solon--the program endeavors to become the breakthrough standard-bearer in the burgeoning spirit industry through: safety, certified education and training excellence, inclusion, character-building and athletic integrity. From its annual “Children’s Cheer Classic” which raises funds Akron Children’s Hospital’s Reach Out and Read Program, to the awarding of college scholarships, Elite seeks to develop empowered athletes who become empowered leaders.
