October 7, 2009 --
Award winning Olde Towne Hall Theatre (Website | Profile) in North Ridgeville opens its 2009-2010 season with Neil Simon's comedy, "Rumors".
Four couples gather to celebrate the 10th wedding anniversary of their best friends, only to discover their host, the deputy mayor of NYC wounded by gunfire. An attempted suicide ... or is it? A missing wife, a missing cook, a damaged car, whip lash, recurring back spasms, a quartz crystal and rumors galore add to the comedic mayhem as circumstances get progressively worse when nobody can remember who has been told what about whom.
Director Matt Solarz, featuring a great cast including OTHT regulars John Hnat and Gerry Wiess with the comedic timing of Vince DelCalzo as Lenny will have you roaring with laughter, while Ruth Wilson playing Lenny's wife Claire provides a great counterpoint reminiscent of Betty White. Adding to the chaos is Susan Watson as Cassie, the high maintenance wife of politician Glenn Cooper played by Hnat.
The show opens Oct. 9, 2009 and continues Oct. 10, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 at 8 p.m. with a matinee, Sunday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. Reserved Seat tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. Call (440) 327-2909 for reservations. Parental guidance is recommended due to strong language.
