Topic: General Conversation (2,214,601 views) Title: Re: The People Have Spoken Message: There have been master plans for this city in place and/or "creation" since the late 1960s (county) and have been in constant work since the late 1980s. The late 80's was my first involvement along with some of your current council members. Problem with a Master Plan is to have the plan put on the ballot so it cannot be changed drastically or at will. Any plan is just that, a piece of paper unless the administration at the time ENFORCES it. I can cite numerous cases where these plans were not followed because the Mayor at that time did not follow it (whether D or R). So until a council places the master plan in an enforceable piece of legislation, nothing will change regarding future direction of the city.
