Re: The People Have Spoken |

The "For Sale" signs are going to go up. They will be going up on every plot of open land because developers will be having a free-for-all (just ask OSP. They got what they wanted with people actuall watching the place - just imagine what they could get away with now).
I have been considering moving because I am seriously concerned about the direction of the city. We need so may things that taxpayers will be on the hook for (police, fire, city hall, schools). And I will bet the house that with the council elected we will see PCDs make their return and the Master Plan recommendations will be scrapped and never addressed again (Soon-to-be President of Council Corcoran already has expressed his extreme adversity to its restrictions including those on lot sizes).
With new homes already seeling in the 120s and the Valore development getting backdoor permission to add cluster homes over and above what is allowable I think we all can see where this is going.
Inadequate Services.
Inadequate Schools.
Levies for something EVERY election virtually guaranteed which will slowly increase our tax rates to the level (and likely beyond) those of surrounding communities.
Plummeting housing values due to excessive stock.
Cluster homes turning into rental properties when the supply exceeds the demand.
I want to see hope and a bright future, but I can only see plummeting values, rising taxes, and Ridgeville beomming a Lakewwod or Parma-type city.
What a shame. |
