Columbia High School Victory Opens New Season of Scholastic Games Radio Quiz Series

The Columbia High School academic team, heard on the January 30th broadcast of the Scholastic Games quiz program (on WEOL, AM 930) included, left to right, Corey East, Veronica Joseph, and Austin Wood.
2/1 -- The radio quiz program featuring academic teams from Lorain County high schools opened its 22nd season of weekly programs on WEOL (Website | Profile) (AM 930) on Monday January 30th with a competition between academic teams from Columbia High School (Website | Profile) and Lorain Clearview High School (Website | Profile). It was a decisive 270 to 60 victory for Columbia's team, consisting of team captain Veronica Joseph, Austin Wood, and Corey East, who was the recipient of the program's "Standout Scholar" award for contributing the most to his team. The High School Scholastic Games of Lorain County, sponsored by the Educational Service Center of Lorain County (Profile) with foundation support, will continue on most Monday evenings (6:05 to 7 p.m.) through May.
