Re: An Embarrassing Day
Message:
Just so people get the big picture.

We have roughly 70,000 people living in our city.

On Tuesday, only 19%% of our citizens voted. 19%% voted for the well being of the other 81%%...

Lorain has a voter apathy problem.

Those who voted put the same corrupt people in office, of course because of the (D). But they don't like what the D's keep doing i.e; county sales tax & school levy, so they vote these issues down. There is a voter disconnect. They don't see the people they vote for as having any responsibility for the continued corruption.

The citizens need to be reprogrammed into looking at candidates and not party. They need to see their membership in their respective party not as a blood oath but a relationship that could change if their leaders are corrupt and embarrass them. They need to understand the whole check and balance our government was founded on and strive to vote so we can take advantage of the benefits as citizens.

You may not like the Mike Scherach's of the world but there is no doubt he would have cleaned house on the illegalities our city has been committing. Even for just one term.

The original Constitution gave the president to the person with the most votes and the vice president to the person with the second most votes. That means two parties would have to work together. An amazing concept but if only foxes are watching the hen house, there aren't going to be any hens left when it's all said and done. They all have each other's backs. Whatever they want to do at this point, sky's the limit it will be done. The citizens will have to get petitions signed and get things on the ballot to have any representation and to keep from being taxed to death.

We have absolute power now in Lorain. Not one person is there representing the citizens come January except maybe Ann.

The next two years there needs to be a grassroots effort to get more people involved in the process. 19%% is horrible. We are allowing a very small, very ignorant minority to run this city. It needs to stop.

People need to start caring and not allow this cartel to have its hold anymore.
